I have my IID tool which I used on my D3 - can I just use it on the new beast, or does it have to be "transferred" over???

based on my experience, yes you will need to pay a fee to set up a new VIN.
contact Patrick at Gap and pay a reasonable fee. He will send you a new VIN code to use on the tool.

Contact GAP first and say you have disposed of your car and bought a new car, and now want to register a new VIN.

Currently working with Gap - I just need to get the new wheels and plug it in to get some numbers.

How did you go transferring the tool to the new vehicle. Was there a charge to change the VIN in the tool?

I havent had a chance yet, had major shoulder surgery last week and crawling around the new car is not on my list to do.
I'll get to it next week.
