I removed the cross member to allow the axle to drop enough to remove the coil. This worked well, although the last bolt on the first side I undid was hard to remove. When the bolt did come out there was a 10mm gap between the bolt holes in the cross member and the chassis. The bolts other side came undone easily, no sideways force on them.
I put the bottle jack between the axle and the chassis and merrily jacked away, the coil almost fell out. I took out the new heavy duty 40kg to 100kg 45mm lift because it did not have the 45 mm list. I put the old one back in and got a refund.
Back to the cross member, I managed to connect up the passenger side, with the spacer, There was still a 10mm gap between the bolt holes. The cross member is too long. How do I fit the cross member? 2 by 4 and a bottle jack to push the chassis rails apart? The high lift jack?
