What or how are people accommodating switches for auxilary equipment such as lights and the like?
Are people just drilling the dash,
are there any blanks that can be popped out.
or is there a remote sort of option?

There is only one blank on the RHS of the steering wheel, low down. From memory it is adjacent to the dash brightness control. It is a commonly used spot for a brake controller.

I had a light bar added (as part of a bull bar installation) and they put the switch top left in the large kick panel below the steering wheel. It meant drilling a hole but it is neat and out of the way. I would be happy to add more switches there.

I have seen a couple of companies making dedicated boxes to fit within the little storage shelf area.

US-based Lucky8 has a neat-looking panel:

However, currency exchange rates and delivery charges might "knock it out of the park"

Very neat solution though. Worth it for an expensive vehicle IMO.

I wonder if it matters that their vehicles are left hand drive.

Be cool if they had a right handed version as well.

4 switch would suit me perfectly.

Paddock Spares and Britpart in the UK stock it:

Defender 2020 Binnacle Switch Pod - Paddock Spares (https://www.paddockspares.com/defender-2020-binnacle-switch-pod.html)

Another question is whether it fits on the left-hand side of the steering wheel of a right-hand drive vehicle?

Having it there would put the light switches, if that is what it's used for, on the same side as the lighting control stalk.

There might be room for another 2 switches.

(edit: I've sent a question to Paddock Spares re RHD compatibility)

This could be where someone with a 3d printer could do a RHD version...any takers (nudge nudge)?

It won’t look nice. You want a nicely moulded product

Make the part, trim with some suitable automotive trim and it will look factory

3d printing has moved a long way in the quality of finish in a short time.

I'm sure Simon Jefferson of Powerfuluk could manage it but again we will be paying for the production overseas.

Well my 3D printer printing in PETG for the temp requirements doesn’t. You can “clean it up” with sanding and polishing, but again, won’t look like moulded ABS.

I’d suggest Tombie’s idea of some vinyl cover would give the simplest and best outcome locally.

I had to google PETG so I'll take your word for the quality of the finish out of the process.

Maybe a wrinkle spray coating? (or not!)
