Drivers Door Latch Actuator

Hi, have an issue that the drivers door it not locking, I believe its the door latch actuator. Anyone know how to test it before having to pull the door card off and pulling the whole door apart?

I don't think you can without stripping the door.

I've changed 2 lock mechanisms in my wifes FL2 which I'm pretty sure are the same type. Cheap enough on ebay or Aliexpress. I found the OEM ones to be ridiculously expensive.
