Hello All

So I'm back in the L319 community after a two year absence and have picked up an October 2013 D4 with 90k on the clock. It appears to be right on the cusp of the facelift as it has an 8 speed box but doesn't have the exterior facelift changes. Anyway, I'm trying to ascertain if this vehicle has keyless entry and if so, why it isn't working. Key fob remotely unlocks and locks doors but grabbing the handle and trying to open the car like I did with my 2011 model has no effect. Have changed remote batteries which made no difference.

Someone more qualified than me will pop along soon…
Welcome back to the D4!
My D4 with keyless entry had different door handles (the door handle has a little rubberish square in it., where your thumb can depress)

My previous D4 didn’t have this, nor keyless entry.

Maybe coincidence…maybe not

Thanks, yes, I’m thinking this car doesn’t have keyless entry as there’s no pads. Kind of surprised given it’s an HSE my previous but older D4, also HSE did. A optional extra maybe.

It was an option. Mine is a HSE and doesn’t have it

I have the same issue with my front passenger door. Car was in for service the other week & asked mechanic about it - he said due to actuator failure. Wasn't too worried about replacing as the driver door is fine & it sounds like a pain to do. Will be a project for later:
D4 (and D3?) - replacing front passenger door lock actuator with external door key lo (https://www.aulro.com/afvb/l319-discovery-3-and-4-a/271036-d4-d3-replacing-front-passenger-door-lock-actuator-external-door-key-lo.html)

Mine has the rubber squares which a great source of entertainment for the kids as they make noise when pressed (and drives the wife mad).
