According to this website the size of a Schooner of beer in Australia (except SA) is 425ml.
5 Beer Glass Sizes in Australia Explained | Man of Many (https://manofmany.com/lifestyle/drinks/beer-glass-sizes-in-australia-explained)
I was at two local pubs recently and bought a schooner of full strength beer and also wanted a schooner of light as I was driving. No light on tap so had to buy a stubby which I wanted in a glass. The full strength schooner filled the glass and the stubby also filled the same sized glass to the same level.
So my supposed 425ml schooner of full strength was actually 375ml - have I been short changed 50ml for my schooner.
Have you noticed that the actual size of beers have slowly decreased with no fanfare.

GarryA Schooner is still meant to be 425, there's some slippery operators around.
I'm sure there will be a perfectly well rehearsed explanation.

For the old timers amongst us,, remember how all schooner glasses had AHA on the glass....
Somebody actually cared about the customer back then...
anyway, schooners are for girls.

I drink middies. I struggle to finish a stubby. If I start drinking one about 3:30pm I still haven’t finished it when it’s time to go home at 5pm.
I bought a 6-pack a couple of months ago - I still have 4 left. (Not that foul tasting Coopers with the green label - although the one with the purple can isn’t any better.)
Don’t ask me about shiraz! 😀
I used to drink beer until I moved to Ceduna in 1969 and found South Australian beer was undrinkable but their wines weren’t.

It's a hard life, isn't it Pedro?
I suppose you'll have to do it, until some considerate volunteer comes to relieve you. [tonguewink]

All glasses at any of our locals still have the minimum level marking - just not the AHA logo.
Single Malt is much easier to measure [emoji102][emoji41]

OT, just something that came to mind when I read this topic.
A long time ago, when Alan Bond owned the Castlemaine Perkins brewery we had a gig on his boat for about two weeks. It was tied up just opposite Christopher Scase's
luxury yacht at Fisherman's Wharf Southport, if I remember correctly. As you can see I've still got part of the 'uniform'.

Tom Burns' (ALP MP) Vessel was "The Electorate". When a constituent would phone Tom, the office staff would reply "I'm sorry, Mr Burns is out in the electlorate.

This is one occasion it's probably best to stick to a Schooner, even if it is a 375..

Sooooo Ron , why dont you just say...."I dont like beer"?
I note that all the other states besides SA are inundated with boutique breweries , still trying to make beer.....
......although the Woolshed in Paringa brews the most amazing tasting range of beers I have experienced....must be a SA thing.

I don't like many beers - especially South Aussie beers.
When I moved to Carnarvon, I found WA beer to be equally bad so I didn't start up again with beer drinking.

Redback was ok - Haven't had one for decades so my memory might be cloudy [bigrolf]

Was at a local club - and a schooner of Bundy and Coke is 420ml but a Schooner of beer is 425ml -if I get bored one day I might check with Liquor and Gaming to see if there are regs that stipulate the size of drinks.

Definitely one of my favourites. Redback got bought out and moved to the east some years ago, then it disappeared. Recently was available back in Fremantle, but haven't seen it in the last few visits to the local pub or bottleshop.

And how many did you visit?
Of the 5 or so here, not one is purely Coopers.
Several have boutique brews on tap.
Lincoln, Cowell, Tumby, Pt Neill, Cleve all have alternatives on tap.

someone over in the west paid too much money for a 50' boat that would do 50kts.
was it Lloyds Ships that built it?
I can't recall if it ever achieved the desired speed.

I know a boat that can do 50 knots
IF its flat, if there is now wind wave.............................................. ..................[biggrin][biggrin][biggrin][biggrin][biggrin] speed doesnt kill us. Its what we hit when moving at speed that may be the determining factor[bigwhistle]
Honestly on the stern of a amazing DDG at Full Ahead is still awe inspiring for this black duck.

I have some schooner glasses in the cupboard and had always assumed that a schooner was 375 Ml as a can filled it pretty nicely. I reckon that you would be lucky to ever get 425 ml of beer at a pub though.

I always ordered Imperial pints if so inclined to have a larger beverage.
Nowadays I prefer my drinks to be at least of legal age, single, and around 30ml

And down south, in my youth we only had pots. (middy in some states) Schooners didn't exist.
We get em all now. Beer is proof that there is a god and he loves us.
