Am probably asking how long is a piece of string however have to set up a web site and email addresses for a business. Never done this before so looking for some pointers

Web site is really an information page with legal disclaimers, about 5 or 6 pages with contact numbers and ability for customer to email with some details of what you want.

Is this all done by whoever builds the web site information you see on screen?

What should I be looking for in the organisation which host the web site?

This is really starting from a blank page as have yet to buy the domain name or sort web hosting so any suggestions are welcome.

Looking at names with .co or .online as more standard extensions for company name are taken. The .co.uk one is for sale at Go Daddy no price published

Have looked around on the internet but found a lot of inconsistencies and what is marketing dressed up as information

Bit rambling I know which probably reflects my thoughts at the moment on a Sunday evening

I would look at a simple online provider than can help you with everything such as Shopify or similar.
eg Buying a domain through Shopify * Shopify Help Center (https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/domains/add-a-domain/buying-domains#:~:text=From%20your%20Shopify%20admin%2C%2 0go,domain%20extensions%20and%20their%20prices.)

But read the fine print to ensure if you want to change providers you can take the domain etc with you.

When I set my website up, I found a .COM address was significantly cheaper than a .COM.AU address.

Admittedly, that was quite a while ago (the website was written with Sausage Software’s HotDog.

One day I’ll rewrite it with the software (Website X5) Ive used for a couple of other websites I’ve created (a camera club in Sydney and a Rootes Group car parts shop in the USA). Website X5 is very easy to use.

My domain name wasn’t purchased through my provider so I can and have changed providers without issue.
