Defender TD5 Exhaust to turbo manifold oil leak.

Hi there, I have noticed a small oil weep at the triangle gasket where the exhaust manifold joins to the turbo manifold pipe. Is this a critical issue to repair? In my limited knowledge, I'm also wondering why there is oil at that junction in the first place? thanks for your help.
