Hello all, new here so if this is already covered else where then don’t be afraid to send me in the right direction!
I have a 2001 Discovery 2 V8 and it has been converted to LPG some years ago. They have removed factory fuel tank and replaced two LPG tanks in its place, with an auxiliary 35L petrol tank on the drivers side. I’m wanting to get rid of the tanks and not use the injected gas system anymore and was wondering how hard it would be to remove the tanks and if it’s possible to just leave the gas system in place in case I feel like hooking tanks up again (doubtful)? I believe I’ve sourced most parts necessary to get the job done. Any advice is greatly appreciated! Cheers!

if it has towbar fitted, you probably need to remove it first. On mine(same setup), the bolts at the chassis(of the towbar) interfered with getting the tanks out. Tanks came out as a single unit on a frame. Was a slightly tight fit between chassis rails, but mainly due to grimy buildup. Actually the fact that they held themselves up due to the grime/mud/etc helped to get them out as I didn't realise they weight so much as a single unit.
They did have to come out sideways(ie. not fore-aft) as the connections on the tank wouldn't allow them to drop straight down, or fore-aft. Can't remember which side the connections were, but whatever side they are, you have to lower the OTHER side first(sideays, yeah!) then the connections side comes down last.

There will be an isolator valve to shut the gas supply off(to the front of the car) which needs to be off first before you undo the pipe, or you have a ton gas expelled into your face ... or something similar.
