Hey folks I can’t account for my spare key for my 2013 130. Can I order to get a second one programmed using my original key?

is this a LandRover job or can I go private sector?

cheers

Alan

A link to this site came up on defender2.net recently, I think highly recommended:

Defender - Remote Key (https://www.remotekey.co.uk/category/land-rover/defender/)

Obviously not local, but they seem to offer an international service.

a 2013, 2.2? with the later key fob (black and chrome) then find a local indy Land Rover repairer should be able to do it. the site listed dont seem to have the later 2.2 listed.

before the 2.2 (2.4, TD5) used the all black fob (plip) was the lucas and plenty of places can do them.

NOTE: we are talking about the fob/plip/remote.... the key itself does nothing but turn the lock barrel, blanks are $30 from Amalgamated lock smiths in brisbane (from memory)

if you find an aftermarket fob, be mindful that not all fobs are equal. I have a 2.4 Puma (noting Dazza's comments) and bought a cheap fob. The battery is ¼ the size of the LR fob and probably fine for a spare but as a primary fob, drains very quick. LR dealership coded the fob for $80 IIRC.

Ordered one with coder. Will report how I find it.

Worked liked a treat. New fob already has a battery in it and when the adapter had done its thing worked straight away.
