I will need to fabricate a new battery and filter tray/base for my early 1950. Only the base legs remain on the chassis and the box has been cut and removed in the past. I have a spare unit from a S1 which looks to be a little longer when compared to the older base legs.
Can anyone tell me if there were changes in length and design? I understand that the earlier cars had a box section. What are the dimensions and does anyone have a pic that I can use as a guide for fabrication??

Brilliant pic, just what was needed. Thanks.
Can you supply dimensions at all?

Sorry, that's my spare. Not for sale...yet
Make a sketch, mark the measurements you need A,B,C,D.......etc. and I will provide them.
Alternatively wait till someone offers you one for sale.

Look what I found in a box of rusty bits that came with the car. It has been butchered at the base and has no oil bath base. How high did this stand above the chassis? I can fabricate new legs and maybe a new bath base from a later model.

Good find! I find it impossible to take those measurements with the mudguard in place, maybe someone with a rolling chassis can help you.
