Hi, some advice please.

The warning light for Brake Pads Low came on yesterday.

How fast do I need to react to this and get the brakes seen to?

Should I go to the dealer or a brake specialist just to get the job done soon.

Thanks

You've probably got another 5-10,000km before things get critical. Sometimes it is just that the sensor in the pad has broken off also, particularly if you have been on some rough roads recently.

I went through this on the fronts last year, and I probably did another 5,000 before I replaced the pads. There was plenty of meat left on them. The way I drive I reckon I'd have managed another year before it was down to the backing.

Same here, Just changed the pads yesterday and I have done about 2500k's towing a 3 tonne caravan since it came on. I could easily have gotten home and done it there.
If you are at all handy it's an easy job to do. Hardest part is finding the connector on the sensor wire. It's up behind the inner guard on the left side. A piston spreader makes the job very easy and they only cost about $20 from Repco or one of the other parts shops.
