View Full Version : Right Rear Indicator Not Working

It's not entirely true, it has started to only occasionally work, you can go for a drive and the indicators will work fine and then for no reason the right rear will stop working, sometimes they work fine all day with no issues and sometimes it won't work at all for days.
At first I thought it was just a globe, but no mine are LEDs, the only globes are the rear fog and reverse light.
Are these LEDs fixable? or does the whole unit need replacing.

Sounds like a dodgy connector. Remove the taillight and clean out all the road dust that accllumulates there and use contact cleaner on the connectors. Your code reader should record a fault as the lights are a monitored system. If the LEDs have failed, then yes it's a new assembly, they're not fixable. Check the UK suppliers, I paid around 450 for a lh unit after a tree branch knocked the original one to pieces when off road.

Thanks Eric, I have cleaned the main plug, but not the other smaller plug on the light assembly, I'm assuming that goes to the LEDs, is this removable, cause it seemed a bit reluctant to come out.

The electronics in them fails. Mine has had a new light assembly installed years back after a similar issue.

Not sure, i dont think so, from memory it's a potted (I.e. sealed connection) I don't have my D4 anymore so I can't check for you. If the connector has a lift up tab then it will separate.
