Hot news today oil companys to drop the price of ethanol blended fuel by 3 cents per litre, BIG DEAL!!!. Why would you bother, thats a massive saving of $2.40 to fill a disco. if thats all you are going to save you might as well stick with what you are using now and not have to worry about what effects ethanol will have on your engine. so much for encouraging people to use re-newable fuels.:(

They are dropping it because the ACCC is paying close attention to what they are charging for ethanol blended fuels ;)

Me thinks the ACCC needs to stop focusing on ethanol blended fuels and pay attention to what they are charging for diesel.

I noticed at the BoGas (Caltex) servo in Sawtell (NSW), they say that ethanol blended fuels give lower fuel economy than ULP - but they charge the same. (BoGas is ethanol blended).

The servo up the road is charging 7cents more for optimax 'extreme'(optimax blended 5% with ethanol)!!Go figure?Looks like they've done the modern sales thing, rebranding something as "extreme",then bumping up the price:p

Ethanol blended fuel would have to be at least 10cpl cheaper than regular for me to bother with it
