Dead D4

Hi All,
I had a tapping noise develop in the top end due to low oil, filled it up and then it grumbled and came to a complete stop, so the engine is cactus. How much does a second hand engine cost installed? or alternatively whats a dead D4 worth to sell and who buys them?

Let’s start with year, spec, engine 2.7/3L.

2.7 easily replaced with a Ford Territory engine. 3L then you’re in questionable territory (not the Ford type).
Sub $10k to sell it with a broken motor.

This is the main reason I'm replacing the D4. No matter how much love you give it or how many oil/filter changes those engines can still crap themselves with no replacement available. I'm really ****ed off with having to go to the darkside but that's what I've done.

PS I'm a real oil nut and am always changing it but it really does get up my nose that I've had to do this and no way will I ever buy another Landie.
