While I don't know the precise date of completion of LR53, I calculated it to be close to the 11th September 1953 based on published chassis numbers and construction dates.
So we are sharing my birth date, meaning that we both turn 70 today.
regards

Happy Birthday to you both. You can look forward to the next milestone in another 10 years.

I'm approaching 70, three weeks off. If you're anything like me that LR is in better shape than both of us.
Happy birthday.

Happy birthday to you both. Unfortunately (?) Landrovers were not even thought of when I was born - but their spiritual father, the Willys Jeep, commenced their first mass deliveries in November 1941, the same month as I was born.
(And just to point out, the immediate predecessor and design model of the Willys Jeep, the Bantam Scout Car, had as its father the Austin 7! Bantam's previous name was American Austin.)

I too don't know the precise date Landy rolled off the assembly line as far as I can work out it was in January 1950, my birthday is 25 /01/50 so I have decided it is same date, so we are booth 73. My grandson's is the 23rd as well. I drove Arthur Goddard to his 100th in Landy in January & it was also his son's birthday a couple of days before Arthurs.:spudnikparty: 186936
