Baz Brenton and I stopped at York for a few clensing ales on the way home.
Its the first time Ive been in a pub since the WA gov banned indoor smoking in pubs on 31 july.
What a difference,no stinking stale smoke.I dont do pubs much at all,my pet hate how you end up stinking.
Its got to be great for those who work in pubs.

Yep! I don't frequent pubs for the same reason.
Up in Darwin this week we stayed at the Novatel Atrium hotel. They still allow smoking in the bar but the hotel has a hollow core (the atrium) so the stench rises from the bar right up through the hotel - see pix of the inside of the hotel below (pix taken on wife's phone):

I smoke and I agree with both of you. I hate going into a pub and getting the cloud of death attacking you. I don't drink away from home a lot but when I do I tend to go into the beer garden for a much more pleasent experience.

I used to smoke (30 years) but gave it up about 10 years ago. Since then I've become the biggest pain in the proverbial for smokers - a reformed smoker who cannot stand the smell of a smoker anywhere near me - whether he has a cigarette or not.
