Might someone with an SDD assist with SDD HDD satnav updating info please?
The 2014 LR publication of satnav update procedures refers to a satnav update option for HDD systems on the main menu. I'm particularly interested in discovering what the setup function does with the USB-attached external HDD prior to reading the new map DVD in preparation for map file transfer that is done once the maps have been loaded onto the SDD. I have acquired an external HDD that has both USB and FW interfaces but it is possible that any USB-attached HDD might be all that is needed in order to load the map file onto the external HDD, although the setup process is likely to at least delete all existing data. The external HDD might also need to be appropriately named in order for the SDD to recognise it.
The project probably has a high likelihood of failing but if successful then maps right up to current maps created for older DVD systems would be able to be loaded onto these systems.
If someone can assist then at least at this stage probably best to continue offline.
Thanks,
Graeme
Edit: It seems that one of my sons might be able to help with SDD s/w.
