Hi Eveyone,
Just new to the group with a 23.5 D300 and wondering if anyone can give me an idea on what towing mirrors they have fitted to their Defender.
I had Milencos for previous tow vehicle but they won't stay on the Defender.
Have tried all strap options with Rydge Ryder, Dometic etc and they slip as well.
Is there an option other than full door mount?
Cheers,

Hi,
Have a look at defender3d.co.uk and their 'Tow Mirror Mounting Solution.
They are 3D printed and specific for the L663
I am using them with the Milenco Grand Aero mirrors.
Easy to instal on oe mirror base, then easy to attach / remove the milencos.

Powerful UK does them too. Will have to get a pair to suit my Milenco Grand Aero tow mirrors, I was hoping their std clamp would work on the L663 mirrors, but apparently not.

Milenco makes dedicated L494 pads for their Aero's
dont see why they wouldnt do some for L663
is the gap between mirror and housing too close?

I think the shape of the mirror surround to the glass is too steep a slope for the standard milenco clamps to get a proper grip on. I like the mount pad idea, would need to see if this is affects the mount when the mirrors fold in

Yes Eric, I made it even harder for myself by mounting the Milenco's "underslung"..
and then adjusting them to not hit the door, and still function, is a close thing..
much better forward "intersection" vision with them mounted underneath though..
The RRS is horrible in this regard compared to the D2.

and just for Milenco owners---
I managed to "lose" the passenger side one at 100 kph..[bighmmm]
just rolling down the road caused no damage other than a small scratch.. mirror was fine. Bolted straight back on..

The Defender 3D mirror mounts showed up yesterday, very well made, easy fit, and do not interfere with the mirror functioning. Just need to install the milenco mirrors today. I will post up a few piccys after. You also get 2 sets of adapters, one 12mm set and one 13mm set, so you can adjust for the tow mirror arm diameter. Great product by Tim at Defender 3D, go to his website and order direct, you get a discount voucher by signing up, shipping is 20 pounds, so not too bad, total cost including shipping works out to about 100aud each for the pair, but youll have dedicated tow mirror mounts forever. Im happy with that.
Update, fine tuned the install today, had to trim 30mm off the stalks as i wanted the mirrors tucked in tight to the cars mirrors. Used the 13mm inserts to get the clamp force right. Seems like a very solid mount. Pretty happy with the result.
Note the D3D plastic is much darker in real life, seems the plastic reflects a lot of light, makingb it seem light grey
