One thing I like about the CreatorPro 2 is it carries the spools on the machine. One thing I don't like is to make use of this feature is you have to use proprietary filament to get the spools. I suppose I could print up spool holders to suit ordinary spools.., or I could wind the filament from one spool to another. :2up:

Or simply hang the spools on a towel rack type thing like everybody else does.

I did mention that in my post. But thanks for the links. It's kinda neat having the spools on the machine, and I'm not a fan of proprietary stuff ( says me, firmly entrenched in the  ecosystem [bigsmile]). I'm going to work harder trying to get Cura established as my default slicer, unless someone can recommend something better. It's the independent extruders that are the biggest hurdle.

Running Cura on the FF is like running Win7 programs on macOS Sonoma. You can do it, but it it's fugly.

Interesting you mention the Pi. I have been wondering about the Arduino.

My printing at the moment is really quite immature, although I've had the FF for a while. What do you use for design? Or do you just use sources like Thingiverse? I have a couple of 3D design apps, but they make my brain hurt.

I went and decided I wanted to fully immerse myself in design.

Armed with the free version of Fusion 360, sat in my lounge watching YouTube tutorials on the TV (pause button at the ready).

360 is the one I have. I guess I'll set up a second screen here to watch and do at the same time. I don't have a TV, dumped it a while back. Plenty of Macs sitting around. One runs LinuxMint so I guess I could learn a bit about the pi while I'm at it.
