Yep, the whole Gerrard clan will be riding high in the epsom green mack truck:D I was out with the boys at the weekend testing my new suspension and after cresting the hill of one fairly tricky section I turned to ask what they thought of it.........both sound asleep:eek: So, that's the green light as far as I'm concerned to get them along on more trips if they can cope with the bouncing in the back.

Are you coming? That reminds me, will amend the original post to suggest anyone coming from Brisbane meet us there.

Aye, Mick

OK, we're all in!!!
That's means 7 full seats if Daryl comes:eek:
His rangie maybe reg'd by then - (touch wood) - would like to get a feel for it & get to know it first before thrashing the tracks though!!!

My wee ones love getting offroad! They're constantly laughing and doing the woo hoos when the heavy stuff comes!!!

Oi oi - I'm keen but not sure if I'm in.

I just faxed membership form and paid dosh (DD) tonight.

Is that good enough or does your fine organisation have to run a risk assessment on me before accepting my membership?

I did a pretty good 'panel-beat-with-hammer-and-cut-n-polish' repair after the last trip. Now almost un-detectable really...

Please follow this up, would really like to come along.

Thanks,
Hardy

Yep, what Outlaw said, hope to see you there. Let me know if you are coming as the park takes bookings only and has a 50 car limit. That goes for all considering coming along, let me know on this thread.

Looking forward to it, Mick

Hot Diggety - thanks fellas.

This is what I'm working on ATM. Cracking big compressor & tank integrated with the EAS.
Making the whole lot work a as complete & stable system is the tricky part - it's currently chewing through fuses like me on nicorette gum.

Looking forward to giving it a work out on Saturday...

Be careful fellas the drive to the top lookout stopped a lifted patrol a month ago ( a bit of a softy I thought) but after the articulation tester at the back of the park my mate (fatcat) snapped his pinnion shaft and buggered his diff trying to get to the top. (01 Defender)

Best spot to camp is on the back end of the camp on the open hill top. Forgoten what it is called but there is a big fire pit and plenty of grass.

The owners are great they even brought us a bottle of bourbon from town after their night out because the fender wasnt driveable. Good people. the bloke drove us in his patrol and he says that he used to rally cars and he drives FAST!!! Do not get in the car with him especially after dark he is a good driver but I craped myself. Ask him if he remembers Jason and Charles with the broken fender that he towed to moorooka a while ago.

Have fun.

what size fuse are you using, my compressor pulls 35amps and other brands can tip the 40amp mark a 50amp fuse should do the trick, maybe a circuit beaker will work out cheaper in the long run

gestures of good will.....

Did you see Crocodile Dundee the other night? There's a great quote from that movie. When Donk (the big yobbo in the pub) gets on the phone to said Crocodile Hunter.

"Mick.....

Get Stuffed!"

(We used to ring a flatmate and do this all the time. I think we should institute as a GCLRO point of order when conversing with Mr Gerrard from now on).

Only 30A - Label says 35A but couldn't find any - just dicked into SuperCheap to get the install ball rolling. Maybe I'll go with 40A but yep - a proper circut breaker is what I'll want eventually. Thanks

Yeah, I noticed that after I submitted - checked my keyboard to see if was a legitimate typo over a Freudian slip. So I left it, as it's kind of apt.
Funny - this forum automatically censors certain words, eg: you can't say **** or **** or even **** the ****en ****ers but you can say "I just dicked into SuperCheap"

Anyway, today I ducked into Jaycar, got a proper 40A high cap fuse w/spares - EAS & AIR system now online and operational, looking forward to a good day out. I'll be letting down my tyres with confidence...

Good day out, thanks chaps.

I've got some neat pics & vids - but I want to know if anyone will start a proper album for City View Aug06. I couldn't work it out. So there's just a few down below.

Gee, the escape from that bushfire was exciting.

Totally stoked with my suspension mods - confirmed I was on the right track when I first got the tape measure out, all those months ago. Just need to stop the swaybar from clanging away.

Does anyone know if Guy made it home?
He packed in again 5km out of Beaudesert, resigned to call RACQ - Apparently he just wanted to get within the 50km free tow limit. I offered him a mobile phone (w/ reception) but he declined.

Hardy.

Hey Hardy

Yep made it home fine, thanks to everyone for your help. Still had to pay as was outside the 50km limit, but didn't want to risk cooking the engine.

Cheers for the great day.

Trav,

You missed my teeth jolting, nose to the air wombat hole crossing:(
Let's just say it wasn't as smooth, or "travelled" as hardy's effort.
There was no "walking" through that section.

Anyone get a pic or vids of the bushfire.

Was a great day, cheers for the effort Mick and the day lads. Glad to see Guy got home.
I'm assuming Mick & Bolts got home too?

I got a vid of the bushfire - want to put it into a "GCLRO City View Aug06" album so all can find it but can't work out how to create one. Maybe I'll just stick on photobucket.

That was a laugh your co driver pulled his head in just in time to miss a mouthful of dirt. Still looked like you coped a bit in the cabin though. :D

Hmmm, Daryl would've come out brown if he didn't move. We didn't get a bit in the cabin - we got sH*tloads!!:D:( Was like someone had dumped a couple of shovel fulls!!
Cleaned it spotless, inside and out - shiny and new - then the crapola from the construction site next door at work, went 100m up the street - she looks poop again!:(
It doesn't pay to clean your car - it didn't even bring on the rain;)
