CRC8492L is this M8?

I need this bolt to attach a battery tray. It is 8x13mm self tapping. Is this an M8? I have a tap so I do not need the self tapping aspect.

Looking at pix of the bolt on the ‘net, it doesn’t look like a self-tapping bolt.

If your info says 8x13, one would assume it is M8. Looking at the pic, I’d agree.

The bolt is an M8 1.25 and it screwed in no problem. I guess they had a lot of these spare and wanted to use them up. Theses bolts are used on the steering column.

It’s not self tapping, it’s self aligning… hence the lead in shank

And the built in flange helps load spread without a washer

IMHO they a both very good design improvements over a standard bolt.
