Few features from my D5 I miss but applying the hand brake automatically on turning the engine off was handy to stop the car rolling that bit before the gear box is in park.
There is a setting in the CCF for the Park brake with the option to have it apply, I think it is called “key out apply” or something like that. I’ve tried this on my MY16.5 TDV6 but this doesn’t appear to work, although GAP say this works on most cars.
Does anyone else have this setting working on a D4? Is there another setting that needs to be tweaked for it to work?
Thanks
Ron

I figured it out, I was trying to set it via (using IIDTool) “full CCF list” which didn’t work. Setting it via the confirmed list worked.

So are you saying that you can get the park brake to turn on automatically on a D4?

Pictures below show from the main menu, select "Car Config", let it load the CCF then select "Confirmed list", from that select the PBM (Parking Brake Module) which should show 2 settings. The drive-away release was already active on my car, also on my 2011 D4 that was working. Change the "Key-Out apply" to active and upload the new CCF. Once done, you will see the Park brake light come on when you switch off the engine.

Doesn’t do anything on mine. D4 2010 3L. Was already active when I checked it and it doesn’t auto apply on mine.

I noticed today that if you put the gear box in park before switching off the engine it doesn’t apply the park brake, it only works when letting the car switch the gearbox to park.
Which makes it doubtful if it works on a 6 speed.

As you suggested - no it doesn’t work on a 6 speed
