Got a hole in the condenser. Natrad no longer supply for this model (the existing one came from them 10 years ago for less than 50% LR price) and the genuine is close to $2k. Can anyone suggest a source? Early Puma, same condenser as the td5.

I was looking over the shoulder of a mechanic a week or so back as he scrolled through pages of them on the NAPA website. Unfortunately, I think that on-line catalogue is only accessible to account holders.

Well it seems that there are no aftermarket options, Natrad no longer list them, a/c specialist has been unable to source one, LR dealer price is $3975 !!! genuine from UK for GBP 927 delivered seems to be the only option :(

Pm me if you want more details, I'm a bit time poor at the minute.

part number LR025985, used on Defender TD5, TDCi to the end of 2016
Britpart do one. i've used them before, seem ok, $1600 landed
as they dont fail often, i wouldnt be adverse to sourcing a secondhand one.
OR
there is a ebay seller in the U.K selling genuine ones for $1100
there is also a pile of different aftermarket brands available, most look like you have to make mods to them.

Something that might work is having it aluminium welded.
I did this on a bike a few years back. When my late son crashed, a stick holed the radiator. It has worked for the past 14 years.

Thanks for all those suggestions, I ordered from LR Classic Parts immediately after making my last post above. You know how it is- too many things on the to-do list, need this done yesterday, etc. Wrong time of year to be without a/c but of course that's the only time it ever packs up.
