So I just purchased this rig, 309,000k's on the clock however she comes with a FULL, documented & receipted service history from a very reputable Land Rover Dealership dealer being SBL Automotive in Brisbane.

Going through the history I found since approx 275,000k's she's had quite a bit of work done including the following:

New Injector Pump
New genuine turbo
New genuine oil cooler & hoses
New brakes Front & Rear
New rear airbag strut complete
New throttle body seals & new front diff seals.
New front wheel bearings.
New, genuine front control arms.

There's a lot of little things I haven't added & the timing belts have been done when due, next due date for the front one is 340,000k's.

It's been kept very clean inside & out, had the metal sump & filter conversion on the 6 speed Auto & has near new A/T tyres all round & currently doesn't leak a drop of oil.

I can't find any info on the status of the EGR system.

Just a couple of questions:

After this amount of KLM is this rig out of the danger zone with the crankshaft failing?

Should I get the EGR delete done?

The tacho is "waving" or "rpm hunting" at around 80klm/h slightly, which, from what I've researched, indicated that a new trans filter & fluid are due, does this sound correct?

Anything else I should be on the lookout for?

Overall I'm very happy with it, it drives VERY nice indeed, incredibly smooth for a vehicle with that many KLM on the clock.

From what I've calculated, in the past 18 months it's pretty much had the amount I've paid for it, spent on it, all at the Land Rover Dealership & if it wasn't for this I wouldn't have purchased it.

All info, opinions & advice welcome 😁

The trans is probably the torque converter is failing. You can try an oil change but it’ll probably need some gearbox work.

Crank rarely fails on the 2.7, front and rear belts are due at the same time although if the rear belt its less catastrophic. Torque converter failure is the usual cause of the flickering rpm's, could try a fluid flush and see if that helps but its usually only a bandaid approach.
You can blank the EGR valves but being a EURO4 version you'll also need a software patch to stop the engine light coming on, if that's the original motor at 309k its likely had new EGR's at some point.
