Just had the car into dealer for the 3rd time for infotainment screen not coming on occasionally. Happens when starting, black screen, wont come on with re-boot holding down the on button. Dash screen works but no media or phone.
LR replaced the screen once. Can't find a fault when on test in the shop.
Software update coming in next weeks, apparently Range Rover has some issues. Going to review after that.
Screen comes on after locking and leaving car for a period.

I had similar with the pivi pro, black screen but could still hear daio eyc and select things blindly via the steering wheel. I did not stay on after locking the car though. A software rewind and then update fixed mine. Id suggest they reset the car software to factory default and then update to latest, an interim update may not resolve the glitch.

I will pass that on, thanks. In my case while I can see e.g. the map on the dash cluster there are no action buttons illuminated on the steering wheel for phone or others.

So recently LR had my car for a week to do an extensive investigation of the blank screen problem.
Not unsurprisingly nothing was found and they drove it every day to see if the fault occurred - it didn't.
So we are back to monitoring and hoping the recent software upgrades have fixed the fault(s).
Interestingly they did find my battery was marginal so replaced that for me. I've never seen a low battery warning and do a lot of highway driving regularly.

PS this forum is very quiet. I guess we're all happy!

We must be, this place is quiet, or we're too busy driving the thing.

I've had the blank screen twice since, both times when unlocking and starting the car via the fob. Doesn't seem to do it when I remote start thr car. Both times thr screen comes back after an engine stop and car lock for more than 30 seconds.

I think that it's quiet in here because:

* A lot of new Defenders owners are on Facebook.
* People are out enjoying there vehicles.

I clocked over 110,000kms in mine the other day - still love it!

I would add cynically that there is not much to complain about...they just work (apart from JWB's problem)

The Facebook crowd wrestles with first-world issues whereas those of us seasoned AULROwners are enjoying the luxury, comfort, reliability and capability of the new one. [thumbsupbig]

My new Defender is simply the best vehicle that I have ever owned. Some of the “new” owners should try driving an old Defender! Some of the complaints are hilarious.
