Sometimes people do things that are beyond superhuman, Kelvin Kiptum ran three of the seven fastest marathons in history. He is still rank the first among ALL the world's marathon runners. Only one man has ran a few seconds faster in a non-official marathon.

Some of you may have heard of him. I was hoping to see Kelvin run one day. Just 24 years old. Very sad.

Understandably, you'd really be involved in the running world to know who he is. Marathoners are not superstars like sprinters. Such a shock. Its a really sad, he had so much more to give.

Running, that's three letters worse than a four letter word. [bigrolf]

I didn’t watch the video but I did Google him and had a very quick scan. Pretty amazing coming from a shepherd to a runner.

Pretty amazing voming from a shepherd to a to runner.

Had a quick search of the interweb and found a few possible meanings, but I doubt any of them are what you meant.

No need for this black duck. I could change my title to "TYPO Expert"

Kelvin Kiptum was a superstar in anyone's language or for anyone who appreciated the sheer guts and determination of moving fast or being the best at any endeavor.

I am Humbled by many people. He is one of a few I mourn the potential to change world records likes of Roger Bannister 4 minute mile or anything moving or thinking breaking the human ordinary mold. One of our RIP includes a Western Port Fisherman to the end! RIP

I agree he was an immense talent and a great loss to the sport, I heard he was the driver in a car accident and not actually running, which would somehow seem even more tragic to me.

On a lighter note ND you could put your military and running talents to good use in France, as they are looking for people to guard the Olympic torch as it parades it's way around the countryside. If I want to move fast I ditch the Landrovers and jump in SWMBO's 5.4 litre V8[bigwhistle]

As for the bloke, I also join the ranks of "never heard of him"

Let that be a warning: Don't do gratuitous exercise. You only have so many tics in your ticker.

One of my mum’s cardiologist colleagues used to say that too. You’re only born with so many heart beats, don’t waste them. He clearly wasn’t a runner either. :lol2:

Mercedes used it as well. They claimed that driving an S Class slowed your pulse rate and therefore you would live longer.....

I tuned my Defender to exceed the speed of light. Now I can get home before I leave and I'll only be seven years old.

People say that light is the fastest known thing. They are wrong. No matter how fast light travels, the darkness is always there waiting for it.

So, you'll probably be 8.

I'm leaving my body to Science so they might decide to shoot me there. Otherwise I will be so many particles of matter when the event happens, Earth having ceased to exist millions of years prier.
