Tdv8 front strut on 3.0sdv

Just noticed on my L320 2012 that the drivers side front strut has marker pen on it TDV8 as though second hand from breakers yard the passenger side front looks different, is this ok or do they have different damping rates, don't know if I'm imagining it, but when I break suddenly the front seems to go down at different rates,
