Don’t bother would be my advice.

Once it drops, engine is gone. Monitoring it will just increase anxiety and won’t prevent any of the issues.

I'll find out within a week if a new pump fixes my 4.4 TDV8's low pressure. I didn't like the suggestion to ignore it and wait for the knock from a piston hitting the head before doing anything about it.

Fitting a pressure transducer to a 3.0 TDV6 is easy as the switch for the light is at the top front of the engine.

Yours would IMO be a different case Graeme,

You’re dealing with an engine known for low pressures and gone ahead and sorted it.

In the OPs use case - checking oil pressure during a service should suffice as the DV6s aren’t known for the same issues.

The TDV8/SDV8 has exactly the same low oil pressure as the TDV6/SDV6 but at least the TDV6/SDV6 is easy to check. My engine is giving no indication that warm pressure is very low and I have no idea for how long it has been low, so I wonder how many other V6 and V8s also have very low pressure.

And seems with the 8 speeds the ability to cruise at very low RPM can take it to minimal oil pressure.
