A review of the Defender 110 PHEV by a motoring journalist in Ireland. A word of warning, he reviews to the vehicle as a "jeep" but over here that is a generic term for any 4x4.

So, more than AU$250,000 prolly. Wonder how much a battery will cost, cos PHEV or not, it's going to need replacement.

Cadogan does a good one on this vehicle.
Can't put up the link due to language, but it is easy to find.

Just ordered the P400e myself. It’s a great fit if your use case makes sense for a PHEV. The biggest annoyance is the severely compromised boot space. It has to be the oddest thing I’ve seen and I’m not sure how JLR went through with it. But I’m sure I’ll love the car regardless :)

42km battery range what a joke - Mitsi Outlander has 80km which is much better but still not good.

One of the many reasons a mate cancelled his order for the RRS PHEV.
Once it is out of battery power, around 80Km,from memory, you are then dragging around a battery weighing something like 400KG.
He does a lot of remote touring,so it just didn't suit.

But that is not how hybrids are used. The engine and regenerative braking keeps the battery charged, and you use the extra power and torque when accelerating.
In principle no different to V8 engines that switch off 4 cylinders to save fuel, and in fact can end up running as a 4 cylinder most of the time as you rarely need full power.
But yes, you can choose to do small trips on EV only, but most wouldn’t bother. You want to enjoy the performance and 0-100kph in 5.6s is pretty impressive for a 2 litre 4 cylinder 4WD that weighs about the same as a D3/D4.
Only the V8SC P525 Defender has more power on tap, and it is only 0.4s quicker to 100kph. The P525 Defender weighs more again and would use double the fuel.

The Range Rover Sport has a claimed all-eletric range of 120km, with Drive getting about 90km.
