I was hoping I could borrow or Hire a Cam timing tool set for a 2004 L322 with M62 engine I'm outer East Melbourne happy to pick up or pay for post both ways with insurance.

I have 2 V8 L322 HSE's that I purchased a number of years ago. Since I was diagnosed with MND I have not touched them and am tidying them up for sale. When I went to start one of them the cam sensor indent wheel came loose I just need to reset it so prospective buyers can hear it running. I will disclose that it will need to be fixed properly and that that car will most likely need a timing chain and guide set.

I need to sell them to buy a wheelchair vehicle and the loaner/hirer of the tool set will get 1st offer on both cars.

Thanks in advance.

If it is just the phasing wheel that has come loose you can time it with a couple of drill bits.

First drill bit is on the flywheel to get TDC. Then you can insert a drill bit through the hole that is covered by the allen key cap screw on the upper timing cover. It lines up with the hole in the phasing wheel.

Thank you so much I have been searching for this method for days people mention it but no one explains it clearly.

I have found a timing tool set from a mate so I think we will check the cam timing while its apart and get him to help me do a video of the above method.
