I put a note about this in Armchair Warriors, but nobody seems to have noticed.
Tonight's "Hard Quiz" (8pm ABC) is advertising one contestant is a Landrover expert. Anyone from here?

If his field is Series Rovers, well that could be you. Is it?

He's changed his hairstyle since I last saw him at Christmas.

Look at that beard, you can tell he's a Land Rover expert. :Rolling:

I did. But I have never heard the term used in Australia, and my understanding is that Tom's description is not strictly correct - the term "breakfast" is applied to the actual radiator support panel, not including the grille.
As far as I am aware, it is an exclusively UK term.

I had never heard that.
When I Googled the term, the only two sites that came up were USA based.
(I got all the other answers right.) :)

Me too. And I did!
Never heard the breakfast name. But I'm happy to accept it's a UK thing.
Good on him for having a go. Loved the T shirt!

Don't have a TV, and don't want to have to sign up for iView ( why does the "national broadcaster" want me to do that?). Was it good to watch?

Probably would have been better if I had even a slight interest in the other three subjects!
But you need to recognise that the show is for entertainment and not for information, and despite my lack of interest in most of the subjects, the show is really about the interactions of the contestants with the host, and looked at from that point of view, it was worth watching. With the added point that part of it was about Landrovers!

What actually defines a classic land rover - age - epic trip - associated celebrity - the first of a model line of any age - breaks down as tradition requires - only those pictured on Rob's tee shirt?
Rob picked Les Hiddins 110, but surprised me it was a 'classic'. He certainly gained ground answering the non-land rover questions.
I thought barbecue grill, but seemingly referring to the cut outs behind the grill. I remember someones tale about trading in their old vehicle for a new one - the chap was used to building a fire under the old grill for cooking - set up the new grill to cook a meal only to see the grill melt into the flames - plastic!

Hopefully everyone is writing emails to the ABC complaining about the answer to the question.
Maybe he'll get on the Battle of the Duds with an apology.
As JDNSW said, the show is about the interaction between host & participants but often I've thought some questions have only a very tenuous link to the specialist subject.

if you don't know it's called "the breakfast" you can probably take "classic land rover expert" out of your linkedin profile. lol.
