D3 Air Suspension Glitch

After about 20 minutes of driving, the orange 'Suspension Fault' lights up on the dashboard.
There is no noticeable change in dynamics when driving. In fact, I just completed a 2,000km trip with the light on each day.
Turning the vehicle off and back on, will get me another 20 minutes of no light.

When at road height, with the light on, the suspension is fine, even overnight. No sagging or lowering whatsoever.
However, on going to 'Offroad Height', there is a definite escaping of air at the righthand, driver's side front suspension. It will stay in the mode when driving, but when stopped, it will lower to normal road height and then stop hissing.
The rear will stay in 'Offroad' height with both front bags equalizing to road height.

'Access mode' is not affected, either.

Any ideas, fellas?

Presumably a leaking air-spring which if not fixed promptly may become a major leak and a worn-out compressor from running for so long.

I had a very similar issue and symptoms with my 2011 model. It was indeed a slow air leak in one of the front struts.

There is no glitch. The system is operating correctly. If you get the faults read, you will have a fault stating, too many adjustments algorithm based fault.
You have an air leak, and the system is pumping it up too often.
You have found the leak. You're going to need a new air spring.

Hi Saitch. My golden D3 had a few years of intermittent unsolved issues mostly with suspension. A very frustrated gent at Ritters did hours extra for me and checked the wire resistance for every wire from source to the fuse box. One line was out of wack and it was the issue which drove us mad.

IF my new Disco now in others hands had that issue - It didn't. Resistance checking would have been my first action!

You can squirt soapy water when raised to see the leak on the front struts and be sure. When lowered at road height the air bag folds on itself and seals off the leak quite well.

If you have no leaks in the system you could remove the EAS fuse at road height and drive all day with no trouble.

These things always happen in the middle of nowhere when there’s no service and your memory fails you on how to resolve. The system is really robust, but does need maintenance. Air bags split, compressors need servicing (desiccant needs replacing) and the likes. It’s not a system that will run forever without support. Just like engines need maintenance, so does the air system, but when it is maintained, it’s rock solid and sooooo good.

I’ve just done Carnarvon Gnaraloo Quobba corrugation run all on original bags and struts 07 build just under 300,000km so they are not inherently weak and the issues live in the compressor 95% and air valves 4% both simple and cheap to care for.

Exact same incident with mine a month ago, very slow leak in normal height but as soon as i jacked it up woosh of air from front left strut, replaced both fronts with a 4 year old set and all good.
When the tax man releases some $$$ i'll buy a new set of rears.
