Help again OMG bad luck keeps rolling

Ok so had a fuel leak had a new fuel filter with me but it was comming from one of the hoses at the back of the filter housing it wasn’t connect correctly. Such a PITA to get back on thought all problems were sorted now looks to be leaking out of the housing/filter is a new filter supposed to have a gap like a slot on it my photos are not working

Update took filter off made sure both surfaces could be as clean as possible doing it in the dirt 3000km from home and it looks to be fixed (for now). I guess there should be a area that looks to be cut out.

They are tricky to line up and twist fully on especially as like you said its quite tight for space there.
