Hello All,

Just wondering if anyone has found a substitute for the bead that pinches the upholstery to the channel that is positioned low down on the front and sides of the seat base? Would insect screen beading work? The original part description and part number are:

Front seat edge finisher trim" Part Number MTC9967.

The upholstery is fitted in the same way insect screen mesh is fitted to a aluminum insect screen.

The car is a January 1993 Defender 110

Kind regards
Lionel

Hello All,

I was looking for something else in a special set of cupboards. While I was fossicking around in the cupboard, I noticed a very familiar profile staring back at me. I underestimated my former thinking. This part, the trim retainer bead is very important, so I put it where 'important' things go. I just need to put things in a specific place and then go to my study and write a note on my computer where I just put that thing. Considering it could unexpectedly be months or a year before I get a required part that had brought my progress to grinding halt. You know something like a totally munted quadrant mechanism for tilting the seat back forward and backward. Also, no tilt lever or the surround for the tilt lever.

I shall call finding the trim as a success! I just need to write a reminder note and things will go far more smoothly in the future. Yes, or place things on their specially labelled shelf for that specific vehicle in the other storage space. Not in the shed where I do the work.

Kind regards
Lionel
