View Full Version : 2016 Disco 4 Red Line Through GPS.

I have looked at a few threads about this issue, but I have questions.

1, Navigation was working well on a trip to Leigh Creek, although occasionally the red line would appear. Back in Adelaide I had new tyres fitted and coincidentally the red line is now permanently on and the moving map is putting me an increasing distance away from my actual position. About 15Kms at the moment. I mention the tyres because there is note of this in the Manual about re callibration?

2, The press the top of the screen in the middle and then at the top left for 5 seconds does not bring up a diagnostic dialog entry or ask for a code. It does try to go into Valet Mode. Pressing Valet mode for 30 seconds, does launch a set up screen, but with little options available. Is there a diagnostic set up for the 2016 software?

3, The wiring diagram indicates that there are 3 connectors in the line form the GPS antenna. One at the antenna, another half way along, and one at the back of the entertainment unit. Where is the physical location of the middle one so I can check it?

4, Do I need to Hard Reset?

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Steve.

I had similar behaviour from a previous VW

Turned out the coax had been crushed, causing a signal loss from the antenna. The map still receives inputs from the wheels and steering angle etc to update the map (useful in a tunnel for example) but there is no accuracy reset to confirm exact position from the GPS.

I'm not full bottle on the 2016 nav functions - is there a way of displaying # of satellites it is using?

Have you changed anything in the car? Possibly a connection has come loose - I think there is one in the boot headlining between the GPS unit in the roof and the rest of the car.

For your question, is there a number on the middle connection in the diagram? This is distance in mm, and could give a clue on it's location?
