Daughter and partner have paid air fares for a holiday arriving in Thailand 8th august and out again 12th September. Spur of the moment as saw a good deal on flights

They have no real itinerary beyond when arrive and depart. looking at Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia perhaps also Malaysia, Singapore. Think Indonesia is perhaps too far for this trip. Laos and Philippines are out

Daughter has done some independent traveling around Europe. Partner has only ever been on cruise ship holidays so no street smarts. Both are at university and so very early twenties

We have not been there since mid nineties so knowledge will be way out of date

So question is what do you consider to be must see and what to not bother with? Open to all ideas and suggestions

They are not big drinkers and do not want to do the club scene. As can do that here in Europe

Think they need some points to build an itinerary around

We did a great circuit starting and ending in Bangkok. We travelled north up through Thailand, then down the Mekong on a Longboat, flew across to the north of Vietnam and then to the mid and lower, then by van across Cambodia seeing Phnom Pen and Siem Riep before heading back to Bangkok. A really great trip with G-Adventures! SE Asia is so cheap, I’m sure that excluding flights, it was cheaper to do this trip than stay at home for the holidays.

Too much can be just that. There is so much to see and do in each of those countries trying to do it all should be years not months. Saying that as I was in Thailand for a few days almost 40 years ago and again last year. I saw NOTHING in the first one as Diving work almost every day for this black duck was PITA[thumbsupbig]

2nd time. Phi Phi islands stay or day trip at least. Days at the beach a most do. Diving or skin diving in that warm water is fantastic! No bad places to report. Food is amazing. A Cooking class and daily massages, facial and more occupied my crew last year[thumbsupbig] A bit or Moi Thia was missed by me.
