I had my October MY21 Defender in for its factory 102,000km service. All went well - although the service took longer than expected because as per the factory they replace the brake hoses - and they hadn’t done it before.

A few days later the car also updated to the latest version of PiviPro. To be honest I haven’t been able to tell any difference.

I love this car - best vehicle that I have ever owned (and I have owned multiple brands, 20+ new cars, 20+ second hand cars).

Cheers,
GG

Hi GG,

Are the brake hoses a recall, or a service item? Seems a very short life.

My 2023 110 D300 is approaching its first official dealer service. Ive done a couple of intermediate oil and filter changes at 10k intervals

Is there a schedule document available that specifies the inspections/work to be carried out for each service interval?

Found the service details I was looking for on the last pages of the 12000 page Workshop manual!

With the local dealer dealer shutting up shop this year its a 600km round trip to the Perth dealers for what looks like a very basic procedure

I remember reading in the handbook for my '95 Defender that all rubber parts in the braking system should be replaced at a certain interval.

Some manufacturers recommend replacing discs & pads at certain intervals regardless of wear .....money making or safety ????

The schedules kindly supplied by Grappler refer to "WSM instructions" for checks and the road test. It would be interesting to know what those entail.

I trawled through the WSM and found this section on Vehicle Inspection relevant to 2022 Defender, referred to in the Service Items lists

It lists the specific systems/components that must be checked

This from the 1992 200tdi handbook. It is the second item, beginning "At 36,000 miles..."
