View Full Version : More power from a 4bd1t
driver

I'm looking to get another 10 or 20hp from my 4bd1t engine. It's a but sluggish and currently doesn't blow any smoke. It has a td04h turbo in it. Can anyone tell me is this a low pressure turbo or if I am better to stick another turbo on it? Or will increasing the fuel help me out?

sort the exhaust to a 3 inch or so, then you can have the pump gently worked.

If close to Brisbane, I have a recommendation for you.

Add propane/Lpg/autoGas injection? Know it's less common now than it had been, but I have it on mine, and it helps when used sparingly whenever needed. Better boost. Cleaner, more complete burn. Incremental cost of operation.

Need more info on the turbo, what compressor does it have? How much boost are you running and what are your egts pre turbo?

As someone who designed and installed a closed loop diesel/gas system back in the day, dyno tuning every installation, I ended up ceasing doing it due to the fact that it increased egt's which potentially made it problematic with some configurations. Also discovered water/alcohol systems have a better result, bonus being that methanol doesn't have to be used and ordinary alcohol works.
