Greetings https://landroverforums.com/forum/images/smilies/H5uKDcM.png

Brand new here. Hi.

I might have done a bad thing.....hoping for help.

Have a 2012 FL2, 2.2 diesel. I was changing the oil filter (who in their right mind designed that location???). Upon putting it back in and tightening it from underneath, I see a clear tube pointing downwards at me, between rad and engine block.

I've attached a photo taken from above with the tube now pointing up. I could not find a suitable place to plug it onto. Is it just a drain pipe from something?

Other photo shows where the connected ends heads to. Both photos have the rad to the bottom.

Thanks in advance

It's the drain tube for draining water from the fuel filter

I've got a late 2014 (Nov 2014 build) and mine doesnt have that pipe on it.
I read somewhere that the diesels that came to Australia didnt require that hose or the electrical connection to be fitted to the vehicles.

To the OP, when you change your fuel filter, take care when taking it off as you may have the electrical connection on it, the hose is not a problem.

cheers

Do you have the right size flexible spanner for the oil filter? Makes the job quite easy if you have.
