Looking for advice/ideas/opinions on a driveline issue I’ve had a couple of times recently. 2006 td5
Driving fine when all of the sudden I lose the ability to change in or out of any gear (rev matching still works). The clutch pedal still depresses and releases with no issue.
I pulled over and jumped out of the car to have a look and listen for anything strange and after a moment the car “jumped” a couple of inches forward and I was able to use my clutch to change in and out of gears again.
Master and slaves were replaced a year ago. Master reservoir was 1/2 full but I did notice an inner part of the cap had come loose and was floating in the brake fluid. I considered that if this suctioned to the bottom of the master cylinder reservoir it could cause the pedal to stick but don’t think it’s causing my issue as the pedal is fine.
Any help is much appreciated.
Cheers!
Edit* I’m thinking possibly fork or thrust bearing.
