Hi my land rover is still stuck at customs fremantle ,its cleared quarantine etc but customs are waiting to get clearance from vehicle heritage in Canberra regarding the air con gas.
if there is anyone on this site that works there, perhaps they can speed things up a bit. my container has been here over a month. along with the land rover is all our household stuff.

Hello LIE4
Sorry to hear about your troubles with customs.
Don't know if you got the email we sent you last week asking if you could kindly share your unfortunately vast experience in dealing with customs and Aqis in Fremantle.
We hope somebody from the forum will be able to give you help as much as we would appreciate yours.
We are desperate to figure out what the procedure is going to be step by step and what time frame we are looking at. Our import is temporary so most of the vehicle requirements you are dealing with should be waived for us... hopefully?
Please let us know if you agree and if you did, we would send you a couple of questions by email.

Martine and Robert

Actually, per population, Canberra has no more politicians than any where else - they just meet up here from time to time.

Hi Kie, Vlad_tepes is the man to talk to on the forum he works for customs, although it is in QLD he might have an idea on what you need to do to speed the process up. Matt

hi
did you leave the air con charged eveything i read up on when i was importing mine said to empty it then there is no problems or just get it serviced by a dealer with the correct
gas for australia, i think they pretty strict on it, im sure it on the customs web site.
i was lucky my air con is those famous front vents windows and land rover build quality around the door seals.
good luck.
as i have just done mine if you need any more help just ask, i imported to NSW not sure i will know the answers but may be able to help, make sure you get import papers ready for the blue slip, as the inspector at the garage would not release mine until i had my plates fitted
