Hi All,
Having just got myself a 2017 MY18 L405 with the 4.4 V8 from Melbourne, I have to do an identity check in SA.
can anyone confirm that the location of the engine number on the 4.4 is as the markup in the picture?
I've put a borescope into that flat area, but it's all rusted, and will need a clean if that indeed is the spot.
Thanks

I'm replying to myself in case any other poor soul needs this information in the future.
The good news is that the location of the engine number is correct, just above the starter motor.
The bad news at least for me was that the location was corroded, could not be viewed with borescope and required starter removal and location gently cleaned to get the engine number.
I had Paul Stevens at Gawler do this for me.
He gave me a photograph marked with his stamp, which was accepted at the inspection at regency park.
All transferred to SA now which is a relief.

This was very helpful for my recent VIV.
I managed to do it in situ, removed starter motor and polished the number while laying underneath (no hoist) and then using manual focus took an image that worked.
