I'm having a problem sourcing the General Grabber TR tyres fitted originally to my '02 Defender. The current set are the originals and have done 190,000kms with no punctures. Does anyone know of a supplier for these, or where there are some in Melbourne. A second hand set would be good as well. Cheers to all

190k from a set of tyres, that good going, i have never owned a car longer enough to replace a set of tyres once i have fitted new ones

Your Land Rover dealer should be able to get them for you. We got one a couple of months back through the parts warehouse.

I know someone who's just taken his off. I'll pass this thread to him.
He's done less than 20000km on his & has just replaced them with mud tyres.

Nesjules, perhaps try and give TYREPOWER a call in FRANKSTON, I traded in my set there, perhaps they still have them, and at one stage they were doing some work for the local dealer, so they might still have some left over.....I realise that this is a long shot, but I'm affraid that you may find it hard to find anyone retailing these in Melbourne, not a mainstream Brand if you know what I mean

LR can't supply any either as the warehouse doesn't have any stock.
The LR # is HYM1308 & list price is $305 if anyone is interested.

I've got these as original on my Defender and done 55000 so far and they appear to be hardly worn. I know it's not much good for Eastern Staters but Barbagallo Tyres in Perth have started stocking them (Barbagallo is the LR Main Stealer) and I think I'm correct in saying their price is around $265 ea. for 235 x 85 x 16s.
If they've got them no doubt they're being imported into Australia in worthwhile quantities so they must be available at other LR dealers.
Good tyres and when I eventually wear these out (not much chance of that with my mileage at the moment) I'll buy some more.
