Hello All,

I know I can get the following product off Amazon. However, does anyone know of any Australian sourced hide glue? I have been watching another couple of transfixing YouTube clips by Thomas Johnson Antique Furniture Restoration https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AONWR04gmNo. During the clips Thomas frequently uses Old Brown Glue Self-Bonding Liquid Hide. The Amazon link is about a kilometre long. Just go to Amazon and copy and paste in the name of the product. If so can you post a reply here? Thank you.

Thomas also does some detective work on trying to work out how the rescued pieces were originally constructed over a hundred years ago. If you need to chill out from a stressful day just grab a cuppa an sit back and relax.

Kind regards
Lionel

Hello All,

Have you ever done a search for a source and found nothing and then decided to do a post on a forum ... then 5 minutes later you answer your own question? Old Brown Glue (https://vespertools.com.au/old-brown-glue/) Vesper Tools in Victoria.

Anyone know of any Australian made hide glue?

Kind regards
Lionel

Not sure if it's Australian made Powdered Animal Hide glue (https://luthiersupplies.com.au/animal-hide-glue)

You need a double boiler glue pot.
I've used rabbit skin glue (animal hide glue) when making gesso for finishing traditional English rocking horses.
