Hi I am enquiring about the reliability of the Freelander both 1 and 2 I have no real knowledge of this car only what car dealers say and can't believe them they run them down all the time so some expert knowledge would be fantastic I am looking at one for my daughter and what are they like off road thanks in advance.

I owned a FL[emoji637] for about [emoji[emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]][emoji640][emoji640]] years. Worst car I’ve ever owned - parts are starting to become tricky to find.

The FL[emoji638] is a much better vehicle and far more reliable.

Go the FL[emoji638]…

FL2 is way better than any used car guy says. They just want to upsell you into something that gets them a bigger commission. Depending on engine choice they are reliable and frugal, and while they are not a Disco they are still capable off road, bearing in mind that they don’t have a transfer case. Not much for towing though. I would have one. Talk to someone like Cambo.

I've read everywhere that the Freelander 1 was junk, I don't know I've never had one.

Ourselves and 2 other friends own a 2 (3 cars all up) and they are fantastic.

Biggest complaint would be road noise from the rear.
