Some people swear by their LPG conversion some warn against it but who are the mob to talk to in Brisbane who know their stuff and might have done some p38's?

Cheers guys,

Charlie

Charlie, firstly do you have a GEMS or Bosch Motronic system (Thor engine)?

Whilst I'd recommend sequential gas in jection for both, you can get away with a simple venturi system on the GEMS.

Ron, I got the Bosch. 2001 4.6. Any particular brand of system that stands out? I would like to use the spare wheel well so it could be dual fuel. Any idea on capacity of a dohnut tank in there?

Charlie,

I have no idea about P38's but Tony Motson did the gas on my old 96 V8 Disco, he was excellent.

They are at Rocklea and Springwood I think.

Cheers Fen, I have heard that they are pretty good with mods and things so will give them a call.

Just to update this thread a little, I rang Tony Motson's for an LPG conversion quote and they rang back today. They told me that they are sorry but they will no longer work on Land Rovers as the fitters have refused to work on them. Obviously with staff turnover this may change but at the moment they are a no go.

It probably doesn't help that they no doubt have lots of conversion work on therfore can be choosy with which ones they will do.

If I keep the P38A, I'm getting KLR Auto to fit an SGI system.

They WANT to do mine!

I had sequential system put in my DII and am in love with it.

Memmotts did a good job, they are in Windsor.

G'day Charliebrisbane :)

Give Mike Bushnell a call @ Duel Fuel in Caboolture, (07)5498 3300 as they are very good and they do Landrovers, might have to get in the waiting line though;)

cheers

Hi Uncle Ho, thanks for the number. I couldn't find it in the phone book. Although Charliebrisbane probably has his sorted by now;)

Also it wasn't even for a fancy system that Motson's knocked me back on. Just the ordinary old mixer type thing.

LPG has a bad name in some circles(bomberdoors and fowlcans)because they fit the cheap set-up from the factory.Pay extra, get the good system and smile on your way home. Pat

Yes, I had many problems with backfiring which destroyed 3 airboxes - have you seen the price of P38A airbox? Around $300.... :(

So I fitted a steel air cleaner from a RR classic or Disco V8.
