Can any of you knowledgeable folk identify this blinker switch? It has, apart from its primary function, high, low and possibly headlight flash functions.

192265
This side has 119 5A on it.

192266
This side has 303888 on it.

I am lead to believe it is from a Series, probably 2A or 3.
Are they still available?

I think I've found it.

Indicator stalk S3 - Lucas Classic - Paddock Spares (https://www.paddockspares.com/575383lucas-s3-horn-light-switch.html?_gl=1*3ow52v*_up*MQ..*_gs*MQ..&gclid=Cj0KCQiAst67BhCEARIsAKKdWOlRDEa8UriOnjXU_1cX Bw0xd-5GZXFzVs05RF6adR7wL5YG0mShXKkaAgzLEALw_wcB)

Would there be any local suppliers?

It looks the same as my old Hillman Hunter switch. The horn is activated by pressing on the end of the stalk. High beam flash by pulling the stalk towards you.

They don't like high beams unless you fit a relay. They melt.

After a couple of failures, I replaced mine with a switch from Falcon and never had another issue. I needed to make a cancelling ring to suit.

Shock, gasp, horror! Fancy the Poms using the same part across multiple makes! :o[biggrin] My son needs one for his CF Bedford. The plastic pivot seems to be the usual failure point.
Rimmers have them too.

Thanks Ron. I see the budget one in my crystal ball.
Do you have any feedback on the cheap version? Ben is working on the theory that it couldn't be worse than the Lucas original. He has just had the third catastrophic failure, running nothing but blinkers through it. He runs headlights and horn independently, which may explain electrical survival but mechanical failure.

Sorry Ian, I don’t. I didn’t know if KLR had them, I just did a search for “Indicator”.

Do you recon Land Rover buy-in the cheap one, add a sticker and put Land Rover Tax on it ?
I think you can also pay more and get them in a Lucas box, same deal probably.
There can't be too many companies making these.

Colin.

Yes Colin, the same thought crossed my mind.

It also looks the same as that used in the early Minis, from my now tatty memory.

I've heard lots of complaints about the switches not being reliable but never had a problem.
As long as you haven't upgraded headlights without adding relays I don't know why they would fail apart from wear & tear over many years.

The fingers that trip the switch back to neutral from left or right can break off but most issues are from overheating at the rivetted connections due to current draw.

My son's experience is that the plastic fails at the pivot.
