I’ve seen the Billet branded turbo - any feedback on these?
I understand the Puma turbo is quite small so runs out of mid range and higher rev puff… but also that turbo upgrades should not have a RAI?
My 08 D90 has a BAS intercooler and 165BHP remap, turbo back straight thru exhaust. Nakatanenga air intake, still standard air box.

Did you read that on one of the places selling bigger turbos?
You will find that the cylinder head wont have the throughput to take a bigger turbo and soon enough it will be head replacement.
I tune them, do a first section ceramic coated good flow exhaust, a ceramic coated exhaust manifold and also a ceramic coated turbo snails, upgraded all alloy intercooler.
Anything beyond that is marketing bull****

Thanks Daz, yes exactly lots of suppliers in the UK say that… that sounds complicated (because I understood less than half of what you said!). What does something that cost and do what do you think of cost vs gain?

*tune worth doing
*all alloy intercooler in general worth it, although 2.4 models arent prone to failing like a 2.2
*doing a first section free flowing exhaust worth doing.
*doing that first section in a industrial ceramic coating (inside/outside) worth doing it for the reduced heat through floor.
*the same industrial ceramic coating on exhaust manifold and turbo snails (the alloy and cast part of the turbo) worth it from the reduced engine heat soak.
*with regards to the ceramic coat in the turbo and manifold, I always says to my customers that while in theory there might be performance gains in reality dont expect it to happen.
Customers do come back and say it performs better.
*professional ceramic coatings arent that bad and in general work out better than the heat rap bandage.

Ok not sure anyone offers ceramic coating near me, but I could at least have a go at the heat wrapping myself.

Eastwood sells a ceramic paint pressure can for use on internal of manifolds. I’m sure it's not as effective as an industrial application but should be more effective over longer service life than heat wrapping. Heat wrapping has a tendency to induce rust

is this close enough, they look like the exact same coating I get done here in Perth W.A

Other end of the country. I've ordered a T25 turbo blanket and wrap just to have a look if they do anything to improve.
