My daughter was heading out early this morning in her 1999 300 tdi 90 to tend to her pony before going to work when the front diff in the 90 went. She did not know what it was at the time but the juddering and noise made her stop immediately. She had it recovered to the independent she uses and borrowed a car to go to work. She got updates during the morning advising her of the problem. Anyone he got a refurbished front diff for £300 and charged her £150 for the labour. He had it ready before 5.30pm. He said if he had not got it today he would have had to let it lie for ten days as he is starting a rebuild. She passed 200,000 miles in the 300 tdi before Christmas.

£450?? Strewth. I paid more than that to have my D1 diff "refurbished" ten years ago here in Melbourne. And I had to R&R it myself. Keep that bloke on speed dial.

My D1 had just passed 320,000k at the time, so that's consistent...[bigwhistle]

He is her "goto" for her Defender, and he always treats her well. Just one of those things but at least it could be, and was repaired.
